 Modiste is a new womenswear label who have opened an independent boutique in Stockport town centre.Our concept is to bring in exciting designers, new to Stockport, alongside our own luxurious label collections, together with carefully sourced accessories and bags. We also offer gift vouchers starting at £10. Throughout the year Modiste will also host promotional fashion events at the boutique. Modiste's varied range of dresses will bring catwalk-led designs to our clientele. With all production being based in the Stockport area, we have full control over quality while a close relationship with our production team enables us to bring in fresh new designs on a regular basis. Modiste will also provide a bespoke service for those special occasions, designing in consultation with our customers and creating the garment on the premises. Our bought-in designers will provide quirky separates and eye-catching daywear. We will continue to look for new designers from around the country to maintain the the exclusive and diverse range we offer.
Business partners Sue Day and Elaine Nadin met four years ago whilst working together. Sue, having a design background, is the creative half of the partnership, while Elaine, with her retail background is responsible for sales and promotion. Sue has 25 years experience in the fashion trade, having set up a business with her sister while still at college. They went on to sell on London's Kings Road before attracting the attention of a shop owner in Bramhall, Cheshire with whom they eventually set up a new company. The company went on to sell in many countries including America, France and Iceland. They were also featured in publications such as Elle, The Clothes Show Magazine (on the front cover of the launch issue) and Company. Following these exciting times they began providing a CMT service for other companies. When children came along Sue felt it would be easier working for someone else but now we have come full circle and once again she is creating her own designs. Opening times: |
